Following on from the success of our first online Storytelling Reading Group last year, we are pleased to announce its return for a second year this autumn. The idea for the Reading Group began as a collaborative initiative, emerging from Dr Sarah Jewett’s Fulbright Fellowship at the Storytelling Academy in 2024, to link up doctoral researchers at the Storytelling Academy with their counterparts at University of Maryland Baltimore County, USA.
However, it soon became clear that the interest in such a group was much wider, so we opened it up to colleagues and friends from around the world and it soon became a truly global community of friends who wanted to spend some time reading, thinking and talking about storytelling and the current scholarship around it.
The group will meet fortnightly through the first two terms of the academic year at a time which will accommodate as many as possible across different time zones. If you are interested in joining us, then please send an email to Professor Mike Wilson, Director of the Storytelling Academy, at m.wilson2@lboro.ac.uk. The dates for 2026-7 will be:
