MISTRA Environmental Communication is an eight-year research project that is now in its second four-year phase and is seeking to address the way in which environmental communication takes place in the face of the climate emergency, in order to transform the public discourse and action on climate. During Phase 1 Professor Mike Wilson was involved in a number of MISTRA seminars and ran an online storytelling workshop in collaboration with Marcus Bussey from the University of the Sunshine Coast in
Australia. One of the findings from Phase 1 of MISTRA was the need for an increased profile for storytelling and, therefore, the Storytelling Academy was invited to join Phase 2 as a full partner, providing storytelling expertise and running workshops with academic and society/community partners, as well as contributing to the overall intellectual outputs of the programme.
