NHS STORIES PROJECT

NHS STORIES PROJECT
Date: 2023-24
Funder: Loughborough University EPG Funding (HEIF)
Partners: University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
Value: £9,838
This project took place in two stages with digital storytelling workshops being led by Karen Sung, with support from Alison Mott, Ngozi Oparah and Sam West. In the first stage we ran workshops with NHS staff as part of the NHS Stories project, a national project celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the NHS. In the second stage, we ran further workshops based around a major new EDI initiative for UHL called ‘What Is My Name?’, celebrating the cultural diversity of staff working for the NHS in Leicester. Staff were invited to tell the story behind their name and across the project a total of 19 stories were created by 24 participants across 9 separate workshop events.
